Carpe Diem Haiku – ember

Ok, so today the word of Carpe Diem Haiku is my suggestion, and therefore extra challenging. I love the word, and have used it before in my poetry. Photo is my own, but I have used it before.
I give you three individual haiku today.

in her eyes I see
reflected glow of ember
fading into night

ember in his hearth
old man silently prepares
final cup of tea

ember in the sky
orange path across the lake
nocturnal bliss

  1. Thanks for your suggestion, Björn, I also love the word ember (meaning and sound). Your haiku trio is splendid; my fav is the second.
    🙂

  2. In my previous comment I forgot to tell you something: when clicking your link for today’s prompt in Carpe Diem it doesn’t direct to this blog but again to Carpe Diem…

  3. I enjoyed the ember prompt. The middle haiku here is my favorite. The old man’s final cup of tea. I like wondering if it’s his final cup of tea for the day or really his final cup of tea!

  4. thank you for this suggestion.. it’s a great, interesting topic. and i do like your set. my favorite would have to be the second one! ^^

  6. I was looking forward to your post, because it’s a suggestion you made for the prompt and … well it was worth waiting. What a wonderful set of haiku. That second gave me the shivers ‘last cup of tea’, but my favorite is for sure the last one.

This one is so pure a haiku. I read a few haiku already with the same imagery of the sun in it … really something to see that more of our contributors have used the sun in their haiku on ’ember’.
Thank you for this prompt and thank you for your daily effort to write and share your haiku with Carpe Diem.

  7. That last haiku is pure imagery, definitely no camera needed at all. The 2nd is real emotion, and the first, yes, I can imagine er deep eyes…wonderful.

  8. all 3 exceptional, as are so many of your haiku….the middle one, however, blew me away…the prompt you suggested has spurred us on to write such lovely haiku, and so varied
