Waiting to be read

This poem
unpolished and rough
but with a gemstone edge
is a xenolith in sediment
a verse within a sea of prose;
when polished
it may shine
be a beacon leading home
for those who wander lost
it’s a ditty
waiting to be read.

Garnet from wikipedia

Today Melissa is hosting the Quadrille at dVerse and since we never had a word beginning with the letter x, she has chosen the word xenolith which means a rock fragment that becomes trapped inside a larger, surrounding rock during its formation.
