Kettlebells and swords

Today when going to the gym and waiting for the class to begin I overheard a discussion about the preparations for an upcoming wedding. The bride-to-be talked about all the dresses for herself and the bridesmaids as well as her children. For the groom it was easier, his and his friends would be there in uniform as he was in the navy. It sounded quite stressful and I could understand that participating in a class to exhaustion was a great way to relax.

In just a few weeks she will pass under a bridge of saluting swords, and be married to the father of her children.

Today Mish hosts dVerse Haibun monday with the topic being wedding. I had no idea what to write about and went to the gym and overheard a wedding planning discussion.

  1. An interesting kind of wedding, Björn. I would be nervous to ‘pass under a bridge of saluting swords’ in case one slipped and fell on me. I’m not sure about kettlebells either!

  2. I really enjoyed this because of the unexpected source of inspiration. Weaving this in with the kettle balls and the gym made this haibun so unique.
