Shadows inside

Sipping on sweetness
of flowers and sun,
swimming in songs of a wren
and the breeze from the sea

I still

find my solace disturbed
by hornets and snakes
mosquitos and ticks
by sunburn and sand
so sometimes I long
for the shadows inside.

Today Lisa hosts the Quadrille at dVerse, and the word is horn which has to be include in one way or another in a poem of exactly 44 words.

  1. Good to read you again, Bjorn. The stanzas seem a bit imbalanced in favor of the shadows inside. Wonderful photo you found to accompany your Q.

  2. I love the contrast between your poem, the ‘solace disturbed by hornets and snakes / mosquitos and ticks /  by sunburn and sand’ and the idyllic image you chose to illustrate it, Björn, and the thought of ‘swimming in songs of a wren’.
