Would be Blind

Your skin would be braille
for my wandering fingertips,
your lips, elbows,
the nape of your neck
would tell me
the quivering story more
than the smile on your lips.

I would listen to sighs
every beat of your heart
as I rest on your chest
in our synchronous
breathing I would listen to light.

With cosmetics redundant
as your scent would entrap
me stronger than sight,
perfection of pheromones
never found in perfumes.

and at night I would guide
you through light-starving woods
without falling, on sensitive feet
I would lead you home
to the taste
of cardamom selves.

  1. What a romantic love poem. This is my favorite stanza.

    I would listen to sighs
    every beat of your heart
as I rest on you chest
    in our synchronous
breathing I would listen to light.

I think the third line is missing a letter, your instead of you.

Keep on writing. I appreciate your poems.

  2. Bjorn, your poem is one of the most lovely declarations of love I’ve read …. Sighs from me, many of them. Also love the image you chose.
