Her void of nothingness
is an airless room
is nil and zero
and ready to be filled
as the perfect vessel
waiting for her hero
to fill her being
in a place to nestle
to reshape herself
into something else
for infinity and beyond.

Melissa hosts the Quadrille today at dVerse with the prompt word being zero.

Smiles for the artwork to an excellent poem.
You and I both used the zero/hero rhyme in our quadrilles, Björn, and how different could they be? I love the thought of reshaping oneself ‘into something else for infinity and beyond’, although, for some of us it’s a bit too late. Nice thought though.
It is what we all want to believe in I think
Good character study for that image, Bjorn. Many are conditioned for a ‘happily ever after’ where all other avenues have been closed.
It is what we wish for I think
We all make adjustments at some time that allow us to move forward. Sometimes it’s compromise, and other times it’s a change in desire.
how many people waste away waiting for their happy ever ending.? enjoyed both pic and poem.
A great subject for your poem. Seems a lot of people wait for this to happen.
Life is about reshaping or reinventing ourselves to fit into the world around us. The hunger to fit into something more than the eye sees.
An excellent reflection on how even nothing can be filled with anticipation and expectancy

You can reshape all you want, but…zero’s zero, eh?
To infinity and BEYOND!
😄
Even a “void of nothingness” is something. Though for some it is everything.
nicely done I enjoyed reading this
I feel sad for her, somehow, because she seems unable to define herself. However, I guess, it is also good that somebody will help her along.
100 percent agree…
Clever, to use the picture to turn the piece into an ekphrastic! How well you convey her passivity (which sounds chilling to me).
I agree… and I turned the poem ekphrastic by finding the picture afterward… but for me it was all about chosing the right hopper picture.
Perhaps even cleverer to find the pic afterwards (and to know where to look).
Finding the feeling of nestling sounds wonderful – Jae
Beautiful 😍
Björn, I like how you introduce a playful tone that contrasts with earlier serious imagery💕
I hope she doesn’t have to wait for too long.
Love how your quadrille teeters on the edge of stream of consciousness … great writing.
ah yes the zero is an emptiness. Give it a twist and it becomes infinity.
I hope she finds something beyond waiting for a hero. Excellent choice with the Hopper painting.
