Crafting from less

Baker, brewer, poet
crafting more from less;
it starts from flour, malt or ink
but with hand and mind
and spiced with time
the craftsman, me
amalgamates what’s simple
into complexity for all your senses;
so please sit down
listen, sniff and taste
enjoy an evening with my
beer and bread
(butter added)
and maybe later. later
I will read my craft for you
to gain strenght
and improve the world.

Today Lisa hosts dVerse poetics with a prompt on craft or craftmanship and use any of the definitions of craft.

  1. I love that you introduce yourself as ‘baker, brewer, poet’, Björn, and that you craft more from less: flour, malt or ink. Thank you for the invitation to ‘sit down listen, sniff and taste’. It would a delight to enjoy an evening with your beer, bread and poetry.

  2. “malt or ink but with hand and mind and spiced with time
    the craftsman,” …. love this! Gorgeous write, Bjorn! 💙💙

  3. Bjorn, there you go, making me hungry again. “Hunger makes the best of sauces.” I would add, like you said, “the perfect spice” when merried over time. Beautiful poem and I love to see your self-regard ❤

  4. I enjoyed your reflection on craftsmanship and creativity and the connection to how the baker, brewer, and poet all begin with simple ingredients and transform them into something richer.

  5. No doubt, your reader’s lives are brightened by the aroma of freshly baked bread [smothered in butter] and the lines of poetry you recite.

  6. Thank for the invite! I’d love to sit listen, sniff and taste the beer and bread. The best part the poetry you recite. Enjoy your crafts.

  7. That bread looks wonderful – I would travel to Sweden for that alone… When I used to do signwriting and specialist decorating, I often reflected on the same sensitivity that knows how much paint is left in a brush-stroke and the sensitivity in say , making a roux into a sauce…
