Light lays elsewhere

Left stranded,
destitute and sparkless,
my mind a mess,
branded by my peers
as a non-believer,

but follow
I cannot —
as light lays elsewhere,

you’ll find me searching
through days of darkness
desserts, wilderness
my path is narrow
as I only know
my goal.

  1. I love the choice of image to illustrate your poem, Björn, and the intriguing title. I especially love the phrase ‘destitute and sparkless’.

  2. but follow
    I cannot —
    as light lays elsewhere

I love these lines as they are not only central in your poem, but also for any investigation. Nice poem.
