When searching for silver
in nothing but pewter
remember, that even
when glasses are empty
the blessing of rain
can only be wrung
from an overcast sky.

Nice!
Thanks
Very nice, Bjorn
Thanks
Your poem may be short and sweet, but I felt immersed in the overcast sky – it poured with rain here this afternoon, followed by bright sunshine – and then more rain. The flowers perked up too.
After a dry summer rain is a blessing.
It is.
nuggets of wisdom
sometimes it as all that is needed
Ain’t that so true! Pewter is the perfect way to describe an overcast sky.
Indeed… and no silver lining really
Indeed…
“the blessing of rain
can only be wrung
from an overcast sky.”
Love this.🍋
Thank you… the word wrung is one I love.
Your short poem brought me comfort. I want it to rain here in L.A. at least to feel a bit fresh.
Rain can be a blessing, but often the overcast sky is less fun
And rain and overcast can sometimes change the mood for anyone.
Nice. Words to remember.
A nice reminder that they who mix metaphors can’t get drunk on whine.
I love this positive reminder, succinct and beautiful
Very poetic. Nicely written Bjorn.
I really like your ending, “can only be wrung / from an overcast sky.” Very nice wrap up.
An awesome little write here Björn! 👏
Exactly, Bjorn! Well expressed and to the point!
I like how you spun the overcast metaphor.
Very wise words Björn🙌
Beautiful
A wonderful set of lines, Bjorn, full of imagery and wisdom.
I’ve always thought the best gifts come in small boxes ~~ like your poem.
Next time I would like to see how you wring them from the sky. Like the metaphor but I still don’t know what it means. unless impossible, forget?
Jim
p.s. Jim again. I like to travel, been to your land a few times, travel is my other middle name, been to 82+ countries. I’ve been retired 24 years to do all the wandering. BTW, I was an Aerospace Engineer at New Hampshire for three years making a satellite tracking station work for the Airforce and then 16 more years at NASA Houston Space Center in the Control Center, simulations and missions.
One makes one’s choices and one must take a step to enact, wonderful poem Bjorn.
Beautiful!
