First day of September, starting at a new assignment. Unfamiliar, the office, new workmates and the problems, a project to be defined. Lunch-box, commuting and finding ways to fit a workout at the gym. Transition back to the semblance of being a consultant. Tomorrow I have my second day at work.

pretending — side by side
commuting in silence

Today Frank hosts the haibun monday at dVerse. It was also the first day for me back at an office for more than two years as I started an assignement.

Congratulations on the new job, Björn. I’m sure you’ll settle in quickly. The image in your haiku is familiar.
Oh, no… going back to work already! Retirement has just begun for you!! :>) Nice Haibun Bjorn.
Best wishes to you! I’m sure you’ll find that new rhythm.
I particularly liked the following:
“pretending — side by side
commuting in silence.”
New jobs and a lonely commute can be rough sometimes. I hope your new job works out well for you.
Bjorn, the first day is the hardest, and you got it done. The rest is a piece of cake. Congratulations!
All the best!
Bjorn, what kind of work do you do? When I move I will probably look for some sort of work, not sure what will be available in the area.
I am trying to find my place in a consultancy role, it is not easy though.
I wanted to do something like that as well but unless you have the contacts, which I don’t, it is sort of a dead end. The one thing that is bothering me now is that at one of my teaching jobs I developed a behavior plan for the school and I heard it is still being used today. Not that I want notoriety but it would be nice to be able to use it as my own in other systems.
So economically yet vividly captured!
I like the senses that come to the fore, all the feeling around everything new, you capture so clearly.
