Beast of burden

Kiss me quiet
hush me harshly
and I pledge
to softly sigh
with utmost care
without a single
uttered syllable
I will carry
all your worries
your pain and hardships
without complaints

I’m your beast of burden
slave forever
for a single breathless
kiss

Today Kim hosts the Quadrille at dVerse. The word is quiet, and maybe I should go quiet into the night.

  1. I enjoyed your passionate beast of burden, Björn, and I love the choice of image to illustrate it, the alliterative opening line, and the ‘pledge to softly sigh…without a single uttered syllable’.

  2. This is gorgeously rendered, Bjorn! Wow! I especially like; “I pledge to softly sigh with utmost care without a single
    uttered syllable.” 💙💙

  3. a love poem– sweet! my favorite line?– hush me harshly (i like the juxtaposition of those two words so closely together). 🙂

  4. Lovely, kiss me quiet …what one will promise for that one passionate kiss. I do enjoy romantic poetry

  5. I thought of the Rolling Stones right away. A passionate quadrille. Since you usually write dark poems, I was expecting a murderer at the end. 😉

  6. Aww, this is love, indeed. It’s funny but I’d never really thought about the meaning of “beast of burden” with the Rolling Stones song. I like your poem much better! Those terse lines add to the ambience.

  7. very loverly!

But what if one is a screamer? I mean, forever would be a long time to be quiet. 44 words is one thing, but forever?

    Jus wonderin.

    🙂

    Seriously, this is so loverly!
