Untangled by daylight
by birdsongs in green
the path of today
bends for the boughs
of the beeches in May.
To the rustle of leaves
left by the fall we walk
through the spring
miles upon miles
forgetting the aches
of hatred we left..
Today Mish hosts the Quadrille at dVerse with the word being tangle. I was inspired to write from a hike we did in Southern Sweden over the long weekend of last week. The beech forests were simply amazing at this time of the year.

The wonderful alliteration gives a lilt to the poem, a reciprocity in sound that the forest in spring gives to the persona, leaving the world behind. Beautiful Q, Björn.
It was truly three days of wonderful walk.
We both went for a walk in a spring forest, Björn! I especially love the lines:
‘Untangled by daylightby birdsongs in green’.
The perfect way to forget the ‘aches of hatred’.
Indeed. and three days walking was just wonderful
lovely rhyming in your quadrille
much♡love
birdsong is such a wonderful stops me in my racks most morning on my cycle to work in the spring.
I feel the heaviness between the lines….but it is all left behind in this gorgeous forest walk. It looks like a very peaceful and rejuvenating place to be.
Nature has a beautiful way of untangling us.
Those last two lines are wonderful, Björn!
Those walks can bring untangled harmony when we leave the hatred behind and journey into the forest of peace of mind.
Great visuals. Your ending is perfect. Nature has a way of helping us heal from the hatred that surrounds us.
A springtime walk can chase away the ugliness of the world for a while.
We can see so much clearer ensconced in nature – it looks beautiful 💞
“the aches of hatred” is a great turn of phrase.👏
There is a clarity like no other felt in nature…. (I thought I had commented before but my WP seems to keep doing a disappearing act on my comments), if another appears that’s why…
For some reason the comments ended up in Span… sorry for that
It’s not you, I was having a blip with WP and my comments on a lot of sites were going to spam for some unknown reason …
very beautiful, bjorn– a rebirth of sorts, staring anew. ❤
Aside from walks on an ocean beach, nothing settles quite like walks in the forests … especially in the Spring. Lovely writing, Bjorn.
I love your poem, Bjorn, especially the alliteration and imagery.

You so capture the feel of the walk and the forest, which is my fave place to be, this really speaks to me and sounds like a wonderful experience.
