“It’s not a lie”
“it’s not a lie”
“it’s not a lie”
it’s many lies,
based on lies,
based on more lies
based on a pebble of truth
a grain of sand
beached in the waves
of hyperbolic wrath
the grain is a gem
to be found
to be wrapped
and layered in blankets of truths
to build something better
than castles of sand.

Today Melissa hosts dVerse with a prompt on Lies to celebrate April fools day. I do not think I need any more lies as it seems every day I open the news not quite comprehending that this is actually true.

Beautiful
Thank you
Nicely done, Björn. We have to sift through sand for truth these days and I am really fed up with lies. I try to avoid the news, if possible,
We have to have the news… there is no other ways alas.
You’ve nailed the situation very well. The trouble is, when lies are spewed often enough, the same ones over and over, they take on the veil of truth for so many.
Ah but so many castles are made of sand….so many, yes
A captivating artwork to go along with your poem, Björn. The repeated lines “It’s not a lie” in the beginning really stood out for me. People try to convince us of what is true. I think most of it is sand anyway.
bravo, nice one!
much♡love
truth can be stranger than fiction though – or so the saying goes
Thanks for the truth in the third verse…we need it!
Great response to this prompt.
Because of that pebble of truth, it’s easy to believe lies. Good one!
the blanket of truth! Might not be so warm and fuzzy, not coddling but the very air we need
lies, lies and more lies…its all too crazy.
It is interesting to me the way repetitive lies become “truth” for some, without any critical thinking.
I think the papal phrase here is “misinformation,” grains of truth packing sand castles where the sun don’t shine.
Maybe desingormation is even better, since I think it shows the intent (but I’m unsere really)
A great approach to this prompt 🌸🩷
i read this more as “voices in one’s own head” than a political piece (but reading other’s comments, i can see how it could be interpreted as such). beautiful artwork too!
Beautifully done
Björn, this piece of yours powerfully explores truth’s distortion and the potential to transform it into something lasting.

When lies are repeated oft, they become the truth. A thought- provoking write, Björn.
Brilliant, Bjorn! You captured our current times well.

The message, way you used repetition, relevancy, truth … work beautifully. Love it, Bjorn.
Reminded me of that song by Freya Riding – ‘Castles’ I love the image of finding the grain.
