Later when,
by the shore the indigo sky
blotches the stagnant sea
with lapis lazuli,
recklessly I dive
into your obsidian gaze
forgetting the silence
left in the wake
of seagulls leaving
for nests on islands
being devoured by twilight
where drowning is shared.
Today Lilian hosts the Quadrille at dVerse using the word indigo as a prompt.

Love this, Björn. Especially how you the closing lines of being devoured and drowned.
It is a serene setting with all the blue
It sure is. Loved all the shades of blue.
I love the thought of the indigo sky blotching ‘blotches the stagnant sea with lapis lazuli’, Björn.
I do not know if it would work but it sounds good.
Like the feeling from “dive into your obsidian gaze” as it could be as a captive, helpless to resist. Also very much enjoy falling into lines 2-4.
It was really fun to play a scene with the colors.
Loving all the colors you’ve painted into this scene…from the indigo sky….to an obsidian gaze….and ultimately being devoured by twilight. Beautifully writ!
Thank you… it was a great word to use.
p.s. that AI image is beautiful. Usually I don’t care for AI images, but this one…
I can just picture the beautiful dark blue, like the lapis lazuli, waves making those light streaks throughout. Makes you want to dive in!
Indeed… unless there are some obsidian eyes there as well
What a killer ending.
being devoured by twilight
where drowning is shared
Stunning finish, taken into and by the deepness of the verse…
Oh the ending was stunning and unexpected! A small detail…but I really like the use of “blotches” in “blotches the stagnant sky”. So lovely.
Devastating.
hi bjorn
blotching the stagnant sea
with lapis lazuli
really hit the spot for me today.
it has been a day of many shades of blue
thanks rog
“islands
being devoured by twilight”

What an interesting finish there Bjorn!
Sounds like an indigo dream where sky and water meet.
I admire the rich hues of this poem and artwork, Bjorn.
That is a beautiful indigo sky! Nicely done!
So beautiful and scenic
A lovely poem.
devoured by twilight – such a memorable line
Blue is the color of poets. I love this and its dramatic conclusion. ☺️
an interesting kind of sky diving.
That was gorgeous, Bjorn! You described my favorite place perfectly.

I never thought of drowning as a team sport, Björn. Another one for the Olympics? Gorgeous writing!
Drowning can also be a metaphor (especially as a team sport)
😁
This is mesmerizing! 💜
How dark thou art!
So blue at heart…
Art inspired by poem ~~~ both are lovely, Bjorn. The art had a great write to live up to, LOL.
Björn, the contrast between the indigo sky and sea is striking!
Much love,David
Sensual, dark, dramatic. Beautiful writing, Björn.
solemn, moody, dreamy (in a good way). dived right in 🙂
I love the image of ‘devoured by twilight’; the whole poem sounds very indigo-romantic!
Those last two lines were devastatingly dark!
