Nectar

You dress in nectar,
in the scent
of symphonies,
a melody for strings
solo violin
and a base of drums
at night the single flute
at dawn the woodwinds blow
set in major C
with minor variations
on the cembalo
when we briefly part.
with crescendos
from largo to presto
potions and vials,
your nectar follows, leads
me in utmost harmony.

  1. Love the photo and musically inspired verses Bjorn. My favorite part is the opening verses, dress in nectar is great imagery.

  2. A certain lightness is creeping into your poetry….the darkness of winter is seeping away, methinks…the melody and aroma here are definitely in harmony…

  3. Such beautiful musicality throughout your poem, Björn, and great use of sibilance in ‘the scent of symphonies’. I especially enjoyed:

    ‘at night the single flute
    at dawn the woodwinds blow’.

  4. Oh lord, the cliffs we leap getting whiffs of that nectar! Cascades into billowy sweetness forever – till it’s time to decide who handles the remote tonight.

  5. Oh, I do love musically inspired sensual poetry. That photo is perfectly paired with you sweet nectar of words.

  6. I ❤️ the dress in nectar imagery! The way you’ve captured the ever-changing effect of music is awesome! 🤩 The image beautifully fits with the poem, making it a ravishing read…I love how the poem makes me want to learn all the instruments..!!!!
