Oathbreakers, perjurers. sellers
of snakeoil behold! your promises
broken will change into daemons
of darkness, to amber-eyed imps,
to the claw-fingered creatures
devouring your spleen and probing
profoundly with delicate tools the
sensitive crevices kept to yourself.
Maligner, misleader deluder behold!,
— forever you’ll burn

Hieronymus Bosch
Today Lillian hosts the Quadrille at dVerse with the word we should include being promise.
October 28, 2024
YES! The punishment for incessant lies….the seller of snakeoil….timing is everything and I’m applying that to a certain orange haired man in the US right now.
A sinner to be sure.
…….as we get closer to those so-called Elections show and November, your verse bites harder….and there…well…as gutturally visual as it comes, perfect for this year’s season..
There are elections in many places… we had Georgia this weekend for instance
Oh yes..got you..or a so-called one, with Viktor Orban rushing to congratulate the new dictators…
It’s almost as if you’ve touched on the election promises that Lisa’s poem sees as a curse.
This year there are so many elections… with lies being a critical element.
Indeed!
Truth will come to light.
Truths are tricky
Bjorn, I don’t want to be too judgmental but I do agree that some are churning up karma that will char them over an open flame forever.
bring on the karma.
nicely penned
This is so powerful! Yes, the consequences for slander, lies and deceit are dangerous and dire. Fantastic response to the prompt, Bjorn 💙💙
This is a strong declaration to those who dare lead without keeping their promises! Well done
I can only hope it is their fate.. forever burning. Good one Bjorn.
I love this
This should be a mantra for some individuals!
Very strong message Björn
I love this!
Yes, may he be devoured by demons for his lies!
the promise of placebo in such a dark spell
As I read this, I could hear you reading this outloud!
I suspect you’ve put quite a few folks “on notice.” Liar / Liar. Great quadrille, Bjorn.
The thought of certain sinners roasting is tempting to believe in even for this non-believer, Björn…
I love your wording. I am thankful I have nothing to fear.
Excellent, Björn, and perfect for the season. You scared the hell out of me!
Björn, your poem powerfully captures the haunting consequences of broken promises—it’s thought-provoking!
~David
“…and by their words they will be condemned.” Sometimes hard to tell who speaks truth!
Burning forever is our wishful thinking sadly. Nicely expressed disgust!
Your quadrille reads like a powerful spell or curse, Björn! These lines are quite scary, too:
…amber-eyed imps,
to the claw-fingered creatures
devouring your spleen’.
Can we conjure this one up for the orange one whose name cannot be spoken, in time for the election?
If only people could be scared for the right reason
Lies everywhere, punishment so far lacking, but somewhere, sometime, an accounting will occur even if just by consequences.
