Captured in ink-dance
both moon-street silver,
bud-bursts blossom, forgotten spring
and alas, a sentence-explosion
of built-up anger
for what’s lost
to misinterpreted mind-maps
of a brow-folded soul.
Still we nightshade forget
and gloss the axe-words
with honey-muted lips.
In silence remember the ink-dance
of moon-silver spilled and live.

Edouard Manet
Today I host dVerse MTB and we are writing kennings. Brief metaphoric compound words in our poem. Ink-dance is meant to mean a poem, I hope the others make sense from that.

An ink-dance overflowing with Kennings, Björn! I especially like the ‘brow-folded soul’, ‘axe-words’ and, of course, ‘ink-dance’.
May we all dance to our ink.
honey-muted lips is excellent. love the manet drawing also
Another kind of ink-dance.
ink-dance is a great kenning. Really enjoyed writing to your prompt.
Superb — firstly that it clicks and does not sound forced at all. I can see how this is so very hard to do. Ink dance…..what a wonderful way of writing poetry. I can see I just could not quite get the hang of this, probably carried by emotion, but here I see a fine example.
So many wonderful word descriptions. I love ink-dance and brow-folded soul. I also like the Manet.
I love “brow-folded soul!” Wonderful poem!
This is awesome. I love all the hyphenates and creative word juxtapositions.
Thanks, Bjorn, for a challenging prompt! I particularly enjoyed – “for what’s lost
to misinterpreted mind-maps
of a brow-folded soul.”
Ink-dance perfection! In the future I will definitely consider myself dancing as I write.
A lovely poem
Sentence explosion!❤️ loved it

Beautiful kennings, Björn. “ink-dance”; “sentence-explosion”. Thanks for a wonderful prompt. 🙂
Captivated by “Captured in ink-dance
both moon-street silver,
bud-bursts blossom,”!
Hops about on quicksilver — a sharp kenning of the sorceror’s words, Bjorn.
Fantastically kenningful. “honey-muted” is great.
I would have expected you to find the right words 🙂 My favourites: ‘gloss the axe-words with honey-muted lips’.
I’m always all about the ink-dance!
Such a nice write Björn — thank you for sharing… 🙂
I loved the ink dance but I am with Jane my favourite being “gloss the axe-words with honey-muted lips.
I love the word compound “ink-dance”. Since my blog is poetography.ink I wish I could claim it. Bragging rights go to you though Bjorn. Run with it!
You are right… what a great name for a poetry blog.
This left me speechless 😍
