Eye in the sky

Eye to eye, it stares from starry skies
with cornea of broken stars and iris
formed from dust it swirls but at its core
the black-hole pupil pulls the strings
of mass between our body, mind
and past, while future slowly spins
into collapse, compression, death.

Photo by John McKaveney: The Orion Nebula

I could not avoid to write a second entry for Lilian’s prompt at dVerse with pictures by her astronomer friend John McKaveney.

And the title comes from the album/song that was one of my favorites.

  1. It does indeed look like those “pictures”? what are they, when you go in to have your eyes examined. Love this take on the photo! Although a very sad ending….

  2. Love this Bjorn, the “eye” and the recognition of the passage of time between that perceived Eye to eye.

Then, as to the title, I immediately thought of Alan Parsons which you confirmed which is just cool as I’ve always been a huge Alan Parsons fan, since I was a kid.

So I thought you might like this, a post I wrote early on in the pandemic involving Alan Parsons, my Mom and how rediscovering Alan Parsons then helped get me through those early, scary days.

    Cheers dude.

  3. I like what you have done with this one.

It made me think of what happened to the Submersible that went down to the Titanic and imploded.
