Soon dusk and dawn will embrace in gloomy twilight, it goes so quickly after the autumn equinox. The past weekend we escaped briefly to see the mountains tinted in fall yellow and tangerine. Soon it will be brown and bare, waiting for the first snow to fall, We were there to celebrate and learn, preparing for the next summer hike and maybe in the future we might do it again in winter. It is amazing to meet others who have the same interest and despite having slept too little we feel energised for the next challenge, and ready to meet the slumber season of winter.
shrouded in fog —
only the evergreen spruce
remembers summer
A little bit late to the party I still wanted to write for the dVerse Haibun Monday hosted by Frank.

A great haibun. I love your haiku!
Thank you
I haven’t been on a long hike for ages. Short sojourns only. Time to take on a longer journey too. I miss the silence in nature, away from the hustle and bustle.
It is really something to do… I love the trails.
A wonderful experience… at least, it reads that way. I really enjoyed the Haiku at the end… great take on the prompt.
We had a perfect weekend I think
I am happy for you! 🙂
I really enjoyed the haiku
So melancholy. Winter will be long without the sun. Hang onto the image of the spruce.
I will do my best.
Love the haiku, and the haibun hangs together well
Thank you… it was an inspiring weekend
Good to hear
Magnificient! Your evocative prose blends perfectly with your iconic haiku! Bravo, Bjorn!

A sense of purpose can make all of the difference. How invigorating to find others with similar interests. Maybe you will travel as a tribe…
