This is the first time after summer when I think it will be dark enough for us to have a chance to see her friendly face. Overcast, but still I know that somewhere the full moon hides, and maybe just before I go to bed, she will glance at me behind the tired trees, but when I leave for a walk, a feeble drizzle and a darkening dusk is all that we are given. Maybe later the she may bedazzle me if sky just decide to clear.
not even the crows
can break apart these curtains —
night, a shrouded corpse

Today Frank hosts Haibun monday at dVerse, and the topic is the second supermoon of August. Up till now it has been too much daylight to see the moon, but alas we have had a lot of gloomy skies lately.

What a lovely image you have painted with your personified shrouded moon, Björn, and I love the haiku! One small thing – the past tense of overcast is overcast.
Thank you.. will correct.
Love this. Especially the haiku. Did you take this picture? Either way, beautiful. Hope you get a glance at her.🌕
I took this picture during my summer vacation… there were lots of gloomy skies.
It’s beautiful!
“feeble drizzle and a darkening dusk” excellent phrasing, and I suspect that the same weather conditions will prevail here, too.
She seems to have her own mind, doesn’t she. Love that the moon is female. The Haiku is stunning, Björn.
Bravo!!! Luv this haibun
Much💖love
The haiku to this stuns!
I do hope she breaks out for you. ❤
Hope you get the show, Bjorn. Great stuff. Thanks.
(I add my kudos for the closing haiku!)
Oh wow! I love the haiku. It is annoying when the clouds will not open to show the moon. Nice haibun.
Fantastic language. Oh, those curtains. Just perfect.
I do wish the moon could be-dazzle you Bjorn. I am hoping the clouds will disperse here.
This is really well written. I really felt it.
Is this common weather in your corner of the world, Björn?
Alas it is… but today it is sunny for a change…
I like the transition from hopeful and slightly magical to the ominous tone of the haiku.
Ooh. Now I see what you mean about clouds. :)) Like Jane, I loved this juxtaposition of the dreamy and positive-outlook prose part versus the deliciously gloomyish vibe of the haiku. Beautiful written with the alliteration, too 👌 Guessing you are far north if the sky is usually too light to see the moon
Such a shame we can’t view this rare moon properly at the moment! Love that you titled this “Shrouded Moon” – so apt 🙂
This is wonderfully dark. I love it ❤️
I adore clouds and crows—and your haibun.
Overcast, but still I know that somewhere the full moon hides… 🖤
I do hope you had at least a glimpse of the moon … still have a few hours to go in Central Oregon. Last night’s was spectacular, though a tad orange! Tonight’s should be splendid as we had nice breezes all day.
Great haiku. I hope you caught a glimpse.
