Leap into the void

The library has
no other mirrors
than the one he found
at twelve noon
between the stanzas
of arcane Tudor poetry..

In this indivisible space
he saw an unmarked void
that perfectly fit
his vacant soul
still waiting to be filled
with senseless sounds.

Leap into the Void
Yves Klein

Today we begin the 12th year of dVerse after a two weeks break, and Lisa hosts with the quadrille where we should use the word twelve in a poem of 44 words.

  1. That’s a great leap back into the dVerse Poets Pub after the break, Björn , with the aged librarian, no less. I love the idea of finding a mirror ‘between the stanzas of arcane Tudor poetry’, but I feel for him with his ‘vacant soul still waiting to be filled with senseless sounds’.

  2. I love this aged librarian series. Seems like a leap into an adventure. Like this part: between the stanzas
    of arcane Tudor poetry.

  3. A couple of things bubbled up while reading your poem. One is two mirrors facing each other and making “indivisible space” and the Marx Brothers, who were masters at filling spaces with “senseless sound.” Imagining you falling like in “The Time Tunnel” through a vortex and hearing Groucho quips and harp music…

  4. I also love that your aged librarian found the mirror “between the stanzas
    of arcane Tudor poetry”
especially because I read something not too long ago about a real man who was an alchemist then. I always enjoy your librarian poems!

  5. Very enigmatic, a mirror between stanzas of poetry, seeing something in an invisible space…

  6. he saw an unmarked void

    his vacant soul

Smoothly set into the void, Bjorn! You made it look plain and easy!
