Don’t juke me babe
but join me
later.. jazzin’
at the club down by the corner;
let your hair down
and sway your hips with me:
let’s by the moon be wild —
be wilder still,
while summer-dawn arrives
to the summit of ourselves.

Franz Kline
Today we return from the two week summer-break celebrating dVerse 10 year anniversary. We start out with a Quadrille, our own little creation we run every second week. The idea is to do a poem of 44 words exactly that also include one given word.
Today the word is juke, which is a word not much in use. I only knew it for it’s use in jukebox which in turn comes from it’s use as the name for a joint where you do drinkin’ and dancin’. It can also be used as a synonym for fakin’ out, which is the meaning I tried.
See you soon at our poetry joint

Oh, excellent…love that last stanza!
Solid last line. There is a nice energy in your words, I can feel the swing daddio, and wanna dance a bit. The summit of ourselves those jumps out at me though as the line.
There is definitely some brass in the music, and the beat is popping.
Claudia and me had a nice dinner sharing some Indian food, and it was so great catching up… we will have to see how the world looks once restrictions are coming down. I have hardly left our neighborhood in 18 months.
Be wild and wilder still. Love the jazzin beat of this one Bjorn.
I like the jive of the ‘j’ sounds here, Björn, and the ending correlation of ‘summer dawn’ with ‘the summit of ourselves’ – I think there is more than just a dance going on here.
I think its a happy ending of sorts.
I am loving the attitude in this one, Bjorn 😀 especially; “let’s by the moon be wild —be wilder still, while summer-dawn arrives to the summit of ourselves.” Stunning as always! Happy tenth dVerse Pub anniversary! 💝💝
Happy anniversary as well….
Again, an appreciative style – physical, powerful, a little teasing. Well done, as always.
Thank you… I wanted to get the feeling of that juke joint really
Sounds like a night of passion is brewing!
At least he hopes so 🙂
Sounds like a night of passion is brewing!
I love his entreaty for them to be wild. It sounds like it could be quite a night!
If she plays along… or he will be wild all all alone.
🤣
“the summit of ourselves” is such a fun idea
loving the energy here brill.
Love the change of scene here in the second stanza . . .such a way with words you have when it comes to the romancing of love….at dawn, summiting indeed.
The summit of ourselves – i like that – great energy – and i wonder when we all will be able to get back into the clubs and onto the dancefloor. I miss this so much
“be wilder still, while summer dawn arrives” Sounds blissful indeed. I like what you did with the prompt word, Bjorn.
“Let’s by the moon be wild.” I love it! Lovely to read you, Bjorn.
Many of us wrote on the same track, jazz & blues, smoky hot jukes, passion smoldering. You pushed a lot of buttons here, and yes, the close is killer.
Who can say no to this invitation???
Happy Monday
Much💜love
Love this one, Bjorn!
Nicely done Bjorn… Don’t juke me … join me… I like that!
Things are sizzlin’ at the juke joint!
No teasin’ allowed! Great poem, Bjorn.
Nicely done quadrille Bjorn
“Let’s by the moon be wild” is just brilliant. And I’m a sucker for some hips
ooh, love the moves in this piece. Dancing to the summit of ourselves – now that is a climactic ending…
Jazzy, juicy and so moody. Hip!
Love the swinging meter in this.
Has great swing, and I love that idea if reaching the summit through rhythm and song.
Masterful. And the art adds royalty to the piece.
Wonderful
Love the upbeat vibe. That first line was smooooth and charming, luring one in for a lively night, with some not so subtle hints of romance. Happy 10th, Bjorn! Thank you for all you do for dVerse. 🙂
Sway them juke jive hips, kiss those jazz hot lips — as your backbone slips! Sliiiiide! 🙂
That’s one helluva a chat up line – love the atmosphere in this.
You got more than one “juke” meaning here and a nice jazz feel.
jazzin’ at the club down by the corner;
let your hair down
and sway your hips with me:
Thanks for the memory Bjorn! So much fun being young again, jazzing by the juke-box!
Hank
Björn,
You are simply a master of sounds. This rocked.

Most fortunate that the word
of the day wasn’t … Jerk
( I say with a little smirk 😎)
Ha… yes maybe
this is heart-eyes and sweet strums and sensory love, Bjorn.
