Sisters

Silver starlit stings tonight
seven sisters rise to greet
skies of fall, escaping rain;
softly humming lullabies,
see them revel, dancing
sultry sirens stir, but where
sulks she, their lost Merope?

Today we are writing about the Pleiades at dVerse. Laura hosts and as one of the alternatives we can write a poem in the Pleiades form. Pick a ONE-WORD TITLE  then write a SEVEN-LINE poem of SEVEN SYLLABLES  whereby each line begins with the FIRST LETTER of your title.

  1. You aced the prompt, even mentioning the lost sister. I enjoyed the lightness and joy in the piece.

  2. Beautiful, Bjorn: you’ve managed to tell a story, and also make it scan and woven in some lovely half rhyme and assonance. I just couldn’t get there with this one. But I enjoyed yours!
