in fall I’m reined by words
by wine and cheese, by you
inside as ember crackle,
some smooth jazz playing.
Falling in the reign of fall
I’m warmed by candle light
relaxing by the fireplace
I love this sound of rain.

Oh, me too, especially when it bounces off the roof! I love the ’ember crackle’, the candle light and fireplace – sounds cosy!
Me too! Love the sound of rain. Crazy as it sounds, in our days of tent camping, I always wished for at least one night of rain as I loved falling asleep to the sound of the rain falling on the tent. And then the next morning, that fresh smell after a good rain soaker. Oooh, cozying up by the fire with the reign of rain….love it!

I love the sound of rain, as well. The sound of rain is such a simple and pure pleasure, I think your choice of keeping the piece short and simply put was a wise one. … though you’ve infused the piece with warm and intimate images ~ sigh ~ ‘simply’ lovely.
