The curve of hope is blue
it’s winter lips in need of kisses, or
the egg that broods for warmth
delight of hatch in new beginnings.
Hope craves resolution, gait
on gravel and to keel, to bend
your face to snow. You need
to treat your hope like ember
close to ash; and if you cease
your new beginnings will be lost
as yet a stillborn nightingale.

Absolutely glorious first line, Björn. I find creative inspiration through your talent. Lovely.
‘The curve of hope is blue’ has a ring of Emily Dickinson about it to me…a lovely write, Björn
That has to be subconscious, but I see what you mean…
Hope is the thing with feathers…
Yep
“You need
to treat your hope like ember
close to ash”
I like that line! Enjoyed.
Very wise message, the part about amber before ash really hits deep and should be heard.
Here we go, brother, as 2017 gathers itself for flight, with hope for feathers, arching toward dark Trumpian thermals, hoping to remain airborne. I, too, love the lines /you need/to treat your hope like ember/close to ash/.
Some magnificent phrases and arresting images in there: the curve of hope is blue, delight of hatch, hope like ember close to ash…
Hope can be such a fragile thing and I suppose this is very apt considering we’re at that time when everyone is making resolutions and many will stumble and give up before they really start.
Wonderful poetry as always.
Specially love: Hope like ember and delight of hatch in new beginnings. And title is charming – Curve of Hope!
‘curve of hope’ – an indelible phrase: the trajectory of that arc … the stuff of spirituality and inner peace. A wonderful poem.
Beautiful. Love that “curve of hope,” especially.
I love the imagery of “hope like ember close to ash”. It is that fragile flicker sometimes we must protect.
An ember of new beginnings that needs to be fanned to flame. “You need to treat your hope like ember close to ash; “, gotta keep the dream alive. That’s great!
I’ll spare you my wild interpretation and just say, “This is very pretty.”
Beautiful!
Love the first paragraph and the color blue as hope 😉
Unique interpretation of this painting. Curve of blue … The embers and ashes …
I love the light, warning and darkness intertwined….”treat your hope like ember close to ash” my favorite lines today….
Yep, i’m with them. Treat your hope like ember close to ash. Beautiful, and profound.
Your poem here is marvelous! You are my inspiration Bjorn. 🙂
There is so much to love in your lines. I wanted it to continue on.
I love this photo of the 3 blue eggs in the nest. Very symbolic of hope in new life. Hope craves resolution, yes it does just like a baby bird craves nourishment.
What can I say that has not been said? Ah! The comparison of a “stillborn nightingale” to a new beginning lost, never having an opportunity to sing, was poetic genius. ❤
Treating hope like embers….one must coax it, believe in it, work for it…or it shall die like still born nightingales……this idea framed in your words fascinates me. The hot embers of hope coaxed by faith and action combined.
This whole poem completely and utterly EXUDES hope…..but in such a fragile and delicate way….which is exactly how we must treat it! So beautiful, Bjorn 🙂
You need
to treat your hope like ember
close to ash~
I couldn’t agree more. Great piece, Bjorn.
I love your curve of hope, Björn 🙂 best wishes for 2017!

the egg that broods for warmth
delight of hatch in new beginnings.
It resonates very much with the warmth of the mother-bird’s presence to signal new beginnings!

So much of what I want to say has already been said here. But these lines are my favourite:-
Hope craves resolution, gait
on gravel and to keel, to bend
your face to snow. You need
to treat your hope like ember
Just beautiful 🙂
Loved the lines. Brilliant 🙂 Just loved it 🙂
“if you cease/your new beginnings will be lost/as yet a stillborn nightingale.” Quite the warning in those last lines! Wonderful write!
Your opening line – oh so good, only surpassed by
“You need
to treat your hope like ember
close to ash”
I adored that greatly.
Hope can be delicate, to be protected and nurtured…enjoyed the connections you made and how you linked with the art
‘The curve of hope is blue
it’s winter lips in need of kisses’ – Fabulous opener. Love all the imagery in this.
