Coloring outside the lines

Necklaced words,
stringed to sense
of sentenced tense,
pretense and lies:
a beaded noose.

I overdosed on rules —
ignored advice
vis-a-vis what’s wise
and unveiled my vice,
I enjoyed myself.

  1. Excellent lines:

    Necklaced words,
    stringed to sense
    of sentenced tense,

You bring about soul to poetry and make us readers feel welcome and happy. Bjorn this poem is marvelous my friend. 🙂

Question: Is today at dVerse going to be ‘Post anything you want poem? or will there be a prompt?

  2. Oh the freedom! As a early childhood educator, I detest colouring books and anything else that stifles creativity. We all need to break a few rules to truly live. Love the internal rhyme in this, Bjorn.

  3. I’m glad you enjoyed yourself! I enjoyed reading of it. Sometimes it is good to break the rules…
    Kind regards
    Anna :o]

  4. This poem shows and means to me something I have trouble understanding – a person of no regrets. Wonderful writing, Bjorn, I think the form and meter really help get the poem across, with an undertone of exclamation and pride.

I try to reciprocate all comments. If you want me to visit a particular post, please direct me directly to that post.
