Un-jar me
twist me open
breeze me grins and
knead me shimmered;
melt my heart
in bubble-journey;
make it me and me.
Then bring
with chiaroscuro
brushstrokes,
shadow-dance;
and lead me,
lull me gently
roses, green of leaves;
skip joyfully;
please love me soft.
A second Quadrille for De at dVerse, where I have used all the words up till now. I had not intended it to be about Narcissus until I found the perfect painting, and I changed just one word..

LOVE the way this came together, and that image! WOW!
Caravaggio and shadows go so well together… and chiaroscuro is a fantastic word
How perfect to go to Carravagio, to chiaroscuro for this prompt…and the oh-so-sad story of Narcissus.
I had to think of Caravaggio… many more of his fantastic paintings to use…
Oh, brilliant!
I love chiaroscuro… and yes the Narcissus painting has to be one of the best the world have seen
I,too, love chiaroscuro but haven’t been too successful with it in photography. Must try again- I need some good light for it
The interplay of light and shadow in your poem mirror the painting so well.
I find that ekphrastic poems work best when I search for a picture after the poem has been written…
Enticing! and soothingly poetic.
Bjorn, this is brilliant writing as always. You capture our emotions that make us humans feel in good karma and spirit. 🙂
Thank you for you always being you.
I’m back Bjorn. I posted a new new poem. All your inputs are very welcomed. 🙂
Glad to have you back… your poetry is unique…
Thank you my friend. I’m also glad to be back. I have a lot of more stuff to post. Stay tune for this Wednesday. 🙂
Ah, you’re too good. Not fair!
Just playing a little… but art helps me along.
My goodness, this is brilliant. I’ve read several poets writing about jars lately (with that having been one of the quadrille words weeks ago). It sounds quaint, the jar scenario. But goodness, not if you’re a firefly! This sounds so beautiful … a whole family of fireflies released into the night air to shine their light and perform their dance mid-air instead of in a tight space.
I absolutely adore this poem and see it as so fitting for the world and all the magic it has to offer. You can’t keep things bottled up and contained; especially not magic.
At the same time, that guy’s name is care-a-vag-geo … so this could be about another kind of jar too. 😉
You sound like yourself in this piece … not your dark side, but your sweet/light side. We have to stay connected to both. It’s key.
My goodness!!! This is absolutely inspirational work 😀
Another fairy-like, dancing piece, it made me think of music (not seeing the painting or knowing it was Narcissus until that line!)
Words and picture perfectly complement Bjorn ~ Amazing work on all the quadrille words ~ Love that narcistic slant:
melt my heart
in bubble-journey;
make it me and me.
amazing and the net onto which we are drawn is alluringly captivating!
For once one has sympathy with Narcissus. Can’t help to wonder which word you changed to fit this most excellent painting. Prefer Caravaggio to Da Vinci and Michaelangelo.
Originally I had written me and you… but changed it to me and me….:-)
Nice!
One needs the dark parts to make what has the light stand out.
Fabulous and I had guessed right about the one word you changed before I saw your comment :o) A brilliant poem!
This is gorgeous!
And the poem does indeed dance seductively.
