Sunwarm strawberries
smothered softly
with the whiteness
of the whipped cream,
and linen promises.
Cellar cold
the sweet German wine
in narrow bottles
is a golden dream
of dew-drops on the glasses.
It’s like the night we met —
your breast and lips
where sugared sips
of summer strawberries.
A second poem about food for Toni’s prompt on food at dVerse. No picture this time.

Lovely imagery here, Bjorn! There definitely are some poems where no photos ARE necessary. (I love the second stanza.) The words say it all.
Sugared sips…golden dreams…new love is just like that. Really like the images of whipped cream and linen. A most evocative poem –
Very Romantic!
Very sensual and romantic ~ Specially love:
sugared sips
of summer strawberries.
Ooo la, ha. I love strawberries – and breasts & lips too.
Having no problem seeing this one, lol.
linen promises. ha.
it seems that this recipe will cause an exothermic reaction 🙂
🙂 Strawberries are explosives
now that is a line that deserves it’s own poem 🙂
Strawberries and cream, wine and lips, perhaps a little bit of Wimbledon in the background – a perfect summer… Love it!
Delicious work!!
Whew. That first stanza makes me swoon!
Quite a sensual piece! Loved it 😀
It’s nice to see your more sensitive side lol Sadly I don’t like the taste of strawberries. Raspberries are superior 🙂
Ah.. brown strawberries are my favorite
so tall and perky..
a delight of tongue
and other stuff
that soothes..
a winter
soul..:)
Oooo…nice combination of linen and strawberries…ripe berries and late springtime…new or old love…senses alive!
Just wow!
Lovely!
Lovely, cheerful ad sensual. A very cool romantic “affaire de coeur” capture.
Beautiful sensual edge!
