Deluge me
Fingernails are cutting
burning pain inside my palm;
acid bubbling; rumble;
maiming mind with loneliness.
deluge me
breathing deep
finding solace seeking solitude
in ways that clouds are forming
raining tears.

Beautiful piece…
this starts quite vivid and with so much pain…
the last several lines are quite interesting…the seeking
that solace in solitude in the same way clouds form
and through rain…
Maybe you could call it a volta?
ha. maybe.
i sent you a ‘sonnet’ in email…smiles.
solitude alone has the power of healing from the grasp of loneliness but for that one has to walk on razor’s edge…love the imagery used here to express the journey and the intense feeling that’s been created…
raining tears – powerful writing and vivid expression, pain and fear often find each other in a dance of loneliness.
Powerful and beautifully done!
We all find our way of trying to find comfort in our solitude, it seems. And, ha, breathing deep does seem to be a ‘volta’ in this poem. Great example. Smiles.
Solitude can bring tears to the eyes. How very true Bjorn!

loneliness is a painful place to find oneself; wisdom steers us to solititude
much love…
I enjoyed the rain and cloud images in this. Neat picture too.
There is definitely a shift in your poem, one that allows us to breathe too.
I like that ending, clouds are forming//raining tears ~
ouch, ouch.
I am really struck by the tactile descriptions of pain – the physical signifying the emotional hurt so very clearly.
Wow. First pain, then understanding. Nicely done!
Lonliness is the deluge, then rain. ANd you make me feel it, fingernails digging into palms against tears.
Certainly loneliness can come as a storm. Thanks, Bjorn. k.
The chasm between loneliness and solitude: so, seemingly, similar on the surface and yet – in the depths of loneliness – there is such an unconquerable disparity. Tears, I think, can bring solace . . . and even, eventually, some level of peace in solitude.
‘finding solace seeking solitude’- haunting lines
intriguing, resonating lines, beautiful
Loneliness
Stress and depression, two of the worst plagues today. Well done, Bjorn. — Suzanne
“Solace in solitude” – nice.
release the loneliness or pain with tears, and maybe their is a chance of solitude. I like the comparison with storm clouds and rain.
Solitude flares up the path, guiding from pain to peace….Subtle, yet so powerful expressions !!!
