My skin is crawling from the words we said
With sleeplessness they’re dearly paid
for you tomorrow I still anticipate
as this nervousness will dissipate
I curse and cannot settle down tonight
I stir and hope you won’t be impolite
cause tonight I know you cannot sleep
cause your darkness fills my night so deep
I wrote this inspired of Karin Boye’s From a bad girl
Linked to my own prompt on Real Toads I will also link to Poetry Pantry, tomorrow morning.

Great response to Karin’s poem, Bjorn…I really like “cause your darkness fills my night so deep.”
Oh, I think it would be very hard, in fact horrendously difficult, to have someone else’s darkness fill your night. I am familiar with Karin Boye, Bjorn, and did enjoy reading the information you shared.
Darkness filling your night is quite a line, stole murder somewhere. It is murder in unrequited love, esp. a suddenly. I can see how Karin may have had difficulty surviving. ESP. back then.
Oh, I like the reflection to the poem, the line ‘skin is crawling from the words’ so in the spirit of Karin…and last line is so deep…love the pic of staring flower, yours? nice :)x
Yikes. Hurry then to reconcile! Though it is possible that she sleeps quite soundly.
Bjorn, Quite a tribute to another poet. A heartfelt piece well written. 🙂 —Susan
it reminds me of Karin Boye and how she breathed her last…darkness filling the night indeed!!!….great lines…
Quite a lament. Been there, sad to say.
very strong feeling… the last line is just great, it sums it all up.
Sangria works for me.
Powerful and very emotional, there is always hope
I love poems that answer back other poems. I liked the use of rhyme here. Good work.
It is one thing to say sorry, quite another to mean it.
Bad girls are hardly ever all bad. Thank you for the Karin Boye intro, I always like to see what the instigator or prompt instigator comes up with. You did not disappoint.
..
Well done Bjorn
Björn, Karin Boye is one of my favorite poets and I enjoyed both your introduction to her and your response to ‘From a bad girl”. I like her powerful, and yet simple, words. What a pity there is no book with her poems in English. It seems one can now only find them online.
I will not be able to sleep so well either ~ I appreciate the introduction to Karin’s work Bjorn ~ I have to read this poem of hers ~ Have a lovely week ~

interesting to contemplate sleeplessness caused by the inhabiting of someone else’s dreams. loved your prompt, Bjorn, thank you!
I also read that poem–such a title–and this is very sweet response.

Wow! This is a potent response to the theme! Thank you for introducing us to your famous Swedish poet, Bjorn.
hmm…and what were those words spoken between that has you so stirring unable to dream…
I enjoyed this read. so much so, I had to check out the piece that inspired it. I do believe this response parallels quite nicely.
Love the rhyming …and also like the poem you have referred to… 🙂

I’ve neer read karin Boyle. Thanks for introducing me to her. She must have had a difficult life in a conservative society. Your poem reflects some of that anxiety. Nice.
sharing darkness, such resolve, good write; have a nice Sunday
much love…
Hiya Bjoorn, you caught me here straight away with: “My skin is crawling from the words we said…” Terrific!
You captured that unsettled and unsettling tone, I think…great response to Karin’s poem, Bjorn. Thank you so much for the challenge. 🙂
Thank you for the introduction to Karin’s work, Bjorn.
Oh, the sleepless nights we endure replaying events in our heads. There’s always the hope that things will look differently after a good nights sleep.
Never read karin Boyle before. Thanks for introducing me to her. Enjoyed reading your crisp poetry…Exquisite!
Read Boyle’s poem and like your response to it. Also like your image,

She must be bad for you to write such a nicely thought out piece. Simple and dark.
I like the restless emotion this conveys. Dark, but simply wonderful!
Words – come to life – literally. Love it!
I loved the words, its sound and flow…
