charcoal shadows of your math

you charcoal shadow cross my path
as future’s lost in mirror shards
when thirteen always makes the math
you charcoal shadow cross my path
my life belongs to feline wrath
you play me with those private cards
you charcoal shadow cross my path
as future’s lost in mirror shards

  1. “you charcoal shadow cross my path” What a great poetic line. This poem was a bit mysterious but I felt it as a little romantic too. Maybe that’s just me. I loved it.

  2. “Charcoal shadows” indicate a text, albeit a hidden one: a forbidden language that binds itself to us with the threat of worse if we utter even a word. Superstitions tends to fade by the light of day. Love the title.

  3. Superstitution: what a great theme to explore poetically. It lends itself beautifully to the repetition of a triolet – creating a piece that carries a mystical (well crafted and not forced) cadence, that is quite haunting.
