you charcoal shadow cross my path
as future’s lost in mirror shards
when thirteen always makes the math
you charcoal shadow cross my path
my life belongs to feline wrath
you play me with those private cards
you charcoal shadow cross my path
as future’s lost in mirror shards

“you charcoal shadow cross my path” What a great poetic line. This poem was a bit mysterious but I felt it as a little romantic too. Maybe that’s just me. I loved it.
I want this cat!
Love the repetition…it really adds to the eerie magic of the piece, Bjorn.
Bjorn, Cats always act like they’re sharing their precious time with you. Well written. 🙂 —Susan
beautiful cat, beautiful words.
Oooh! A superstitious triplet! You spoil me.
I love it.
Cats! Psychic, the lot of them!
“Charcoal shadows” indicate a text, albeit a hidden one: a forbidden language that binds itself to us with the threat of worse if we utter even a word. Superstitions tends to fade by the light of day. Love the title.
Very nice …
Love how you took so many myths and made them dance together in such harmony. And that picture rocks!
Great poem-love the charcoal shadow. And what a unique cat in that photo!
Superstitution: what a great theme to explore poetically. It lends itself beautifully to the repetition of a triolet – creating a piece that carries a mystical (well crafted and not forced) cadence, that is quite haunting.
