Not all spirits are good:
eerie smiles –
where heavy canopies
are wailing
spirit can be quite real as well:
Friday evening
yet another glass –
battered wife
But in all they can be quite nice:
when clouds are humming
secrets from the forest’s heart –
silver on my path

Perfect illustration for a well-written poem.
What a beautiful post Björn … it is a nice series of haiku and your choice of that painting … just stunning.
I find that last haiku particularly good, really very nice feel to it.
Ooh! Arthur Dove! I discovered him at the Gallery this summer and fell in love with one of his paintings. Wrote about two of them too — his work has such a wonderful symbolism – much like Redon 🙂
But anyway…
This was a great walk through the many aspects of “spirits” — 🙂
Bjorn, Nice contrast and lovely painting. 🙂 —Susan
Enjoyed the series, tough to read reality of battered wife…lovely painting, nice way to end this series on a silver path.
love the last stanza…it is quite beautiful…it all gets colored with the battered wife…which is heartbreaking to me….
just wonderful!
Nice progression through the spirit world.
Wonderfully interpreted the belief in spirits … I enjoyed the series very much.
A carefully crafted series. Yes, many views.
While I am not so sure of the reality of touching my grand-daughters cheek with the willow leaf still on the branch was a kiss from her great-grand mother – I can surely pretend it was 🙂
