Smell is such an evocative sense–the tomatoes and basil together with a touch of oil and Balsamic–yum. We grow both!
You have rendered a lovely organic haiku filled with things from the summer earth that are redolent with memories.
mmm ate a tomato right off the vine earlier today..loved the acidic bite…and like the hint of romance in that opening….
These are such wonderfully powerful summer scents — and, mmm! The last one made me hungry! How wonderful to enjoy garden fresh tomatoes and basil!
Great post, Björn!
Beautifully scented! You are a natural, Björn 🙂
This is wonderful…and summery 🙂
Bjorn. You’ve captured the tastes and smells of a summer garden. Well written. 🙂 —Susan
Lovely, warm fresh picked tomatoes, basil, oregano leavs…lavender …nice.
You had me at honeysuckle, one of my very favorite scents.
The whole verse said summer to me.
Mm, smells of heaven.
I like the way you evoked the aromas
without mentioning them directly
or the sense of smell
really well done
Cheers!

To sup of love from the garden.
The one my grandfather grew… pleasant memories.
Thank you for your visit. Sometimes when we dive we end up going deeper than intended.
Many people don’t know the pleasure of eating a tomato still infused with the sun’s warmth…
A Whiff of Autumn
I’ve always liked the smell of honeysuckles…. this has a bit of a sultry feel to it.
I don’t know what petricore is but the tomatoes and basil … honey suckles and wine … fantastic sensations.
Awesome Bjorn … all my senses are coming alive with these haiku. Your last even three senses … sight, smell and taste … great!
