motherly love –
still the ugly duckling’s tears
could not be stopped
The Kongofukuji temple is associated with Senju Kannon or the Boddhisatva of Motherly Love and Mother of the World. Somehow motherly love, brought my mind to the tale of the Ugly Duckling by Hans-Christian Andersen.

I love your take on this prompt! You have a way of honing in on one aspect of the prompt and shining a light there – with spare and elegant language! BTW Thank you for your kind comment on my being Poets United ‘Blog of the Week,’ last week. I appreciate it!
Very moving…in only few words you said it all….
In a few words you’ve shown the love of a mother toward a child, Bjorn. That looks like a reallly old wood cut. It fits perfectly.
Sometimes, I fear, there is such a thing as unstoppable tears…
On an Empty Road
interesting the links our minds make..
having a mothers love does soften the blow
a bit though….
this makes my heart ache. there was a while when my beautiful daughter went through something similar. in fact it seems most girls do. this strange society and its ideal of beauty.
