Life on the train can bring back memories from the past. For instance the man sitting with his wife in the dining car is the same that we shared compartment with three years ago. Suddenly, just like a train changing tracks to an unused siding, we are deep in conversation about past adventures. After finishing dinner we are once again back on the main track but with rekindled memories ready to be explored.
Drinking memories of adventures past we climb mountaintops in thought.
We continue travel eastward in Carpe Diem and I choose to be a little sidetracked here. It happens sometimes that you meet people you have met before.. and suddenly it feels like you have traveled elsewhere..
I’m terribly behind in commenting. It has been a lot to do at work and also this haibun serie takes a while to get together. My ambition is that it should be consistent together.

You are staying on track with your posts Bjorn … another nice haibun inspired oñ our journey.
As Kris said, you;re still on track. Interestingly put together.
Always beautiful and spot on.
Wonderful…as always
Can’t imagine you being sidetracked, Björn! 🙂 This is beautiful and flows with the story…
Nice story, Björn – and your American Sentence goes weill with it. Your picture is of a British train though … smles
Not easy to find a good enough picture… hmm I guess my train trip is both specific and general.
ha. i like sharing adventures like that…hearing others tales is inspiring to me…not just with memories of my own but those i have yet to take….
You really have a sense with these Amrican sentences. The balance and rhythm feels perfectly dosed. Your haibun really encapsulate the theme.
Thank you.. it’s getting more and more difficult to find a theme… but I think it can be done.. soon ready to write the next one.
Very nice!
