A naked god

I look deep into the eyes
of the dying sparrow
& for just a moment

I see the naked god
but just like a shooting star
it disappears

  1. A little boy not getting his way
expresses rage through a puffed up
    grown up.
    In his attempt to captivate
he fails to see we see…
    his smallness.
    The blaze slowly retreats
    glory all but fizzles
    and his balloon… pops.

  2. I’ve seen that light go out on several occasions, working in health care and caring for many animals over the years as well. The more sophisticated will probably call me naive or stupid, but I like to believe that the energy which makes all things what they are does not cease but rather goes somewhere else and continues on.

  3. It is not easy to fear a dying sparrow. If we say anxiety is it, the feeling of God, a vision of a dying being will lend itself, I believe, to compassion with the periodic being feeling fear. So I do not share the enthusiasm for the poem. In the Bible, those few witnessing God most often saw fire. If you see the face of God, the Bible says, you will die.

    ELD

    Inte bättre, inte sämre:
Eld är bilden av vår Herre.
    Himlens bakre, jordens främre:
    Inte större, inte värre.
