On the white sand
Of the beach of a small isle
In the Eastern Sea
I, my face streaked with tears,
Am playing with a crab

(Takuboku)

To write a tanka in the same spirit is the task, Here is my humble offering.

forgetting time
my tears mingle with the waves
blinded by the sun
as mirage I see your face
recalling when you left
