Well….you got me there…when was the last time I thought of the backbreaking work she did all day so I enjoy my tea..very nicely done, a certain infused taste of emotion there..might put an ;s’ on ‘add’.
Ahh that evasive s 😉
Love it!
Thank you
This was amazing you went to the heart of it!
Loved it!
Ah.. yes not that easy to vary a haiku..
Interesting ‘ya’; inviting us to explore the link between the bitterness of the tea picker with the bitterness of the tea itself; genius 🙂
sometime I think about where the bitterness really comes from.
Minimum wage, or the resentment that comes from comparing oneself with others?
probably the back-breaking work with or without wages…
Yet it isn’t work if one finds it to be fun…
Very well-written… thank you for having us see from her perspective. I love the tea fields but it is hard work to pick a leaf by leaf.

I think it’s one of the toughest works you can have….
Oh my!!! You have outdone yourself today!! Have you read ‘ Like Water for Chocolate’? You may enjoy it!
I have not.. I’ll note it down
Very tough work and you’ve caught it a nice haiku. As I drink my tea tonight it will taste better then ever because I will thinkof the love she brought in her hard backbreaking work. Thank you for this truly wonderful haiku.
Thank you.. I really wanted to go elsewhere this time…
You’re welcome … sometimes it’s a must to leave trodden paths. You did well.
to your morning tea
stir it with your fingertip
sweet enough now
Ah.. that should add sweetness.
Only if it’s your finger stirring the tea, Sweetie. 😉
We seldom realise where our food and drink come from, and what it costs to others to provide it for us. Thank you.
it’s hard not to think of all the work that goes into everything that brings us serenity or joy. While it was sad, it was also brilliantly written.
