I have chosen to use dewdrop as the prompt for this week’s Ligo Haibun. Please join in this excellent challenge. I have chosen to make a piece of fiction together with a haiku.

The garden was a melodic haven as birds were singing its praise to the greenery of May. Sun-rays filled the grass with emeralds as millions of sparkling dewdrops made him, for a few moments, the richest man in the world. He took off his shoes and walked across the lawn to the garden shed, where he’d left his scythe. The family in the house, still sleeping, would never feel the transition from sleep to final rest, as tangerine and crimson tongues licked the gauze curtains in the kitchen window. Now he could finally rest after a short night of harvest. A cawing crow signalled the start of another day.

OOooooooo….spooky.
😉
A wonderful description of nature with a scary background. lovely..and thank you for contributing:)
Well.. In ‘He took of his shoes’.. should it be ‘off’ ?
Off course 😉
Wonderful imagery of a beautiful death. It also made me think of a quote from the Iliad, “Life and death are balanced on the edge of a razor.”
Or maybe “the line dividing good and evil cuts through the heart of every human being” by Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn
Lovely….how about “Death is not the greatest loss in life. The greatest loss is what dies inside us while we live.” Norman Cousins 🙂
Pure poetry, Bjorn.
AnElephant is left with a smile despite the final words of your perfect haiku.
Thank you 🙂
Björn, your words are poetry, deep and meaningful. Flowing gently like a stream but running deep by a river! Absolutely excellent Haibun!
Thank you 🙂
Wow, how vivid. You’re good at this. By your fine example I hope to learn. My first time trying it this week. Trying to branch out.
Thank you 🙂
A masterpiece Bjorn, absolutely. The description is breathtaking.
Thank you 🙂

♥ a sad tale written so well.
This is so brilliantly written moving. My interest has been roused to join the LIgo Haibun. May I know the schedule for the prompt going up?
I don’t really know… used to be saturday.. but it’s moved to friday recently.
Thank you. How long does it stay up, a week or a few days?
A week I think
Thanks a million
