Today it’s a Carpe Diem special which means we should write haiku inspired by this month’s poet Kyoshi Takahama.
a dead chrysanthemum
and yet – isn’t there still something
remaining in it?
a wonderful melancholy as I read it, so I will elaborate that a little bit.

Clump of Chrysanthemums, Garden at Petit Gennevilliers by Gustave Caillebotte
memories linger –
between the pages of my book –
wilted chrysanthemum
after you left
lingering – the smell of you
chrysanthemum

Thank you!
Thanks back 🙂
I have a few pressed flowers and when I happen upon them, there is sometimes sadness. This is what your poem evokes!
That was my first thought.
This is you at your best Mr Bjorn!
Thanks.. I find these specials to be very inspiring.. I love the idea.
Both haiku are exquisite. Truly.
Thank you Maggie 🙂
Lingering memories caught in a beautyful set … very nice … I am imprest Bjorn … you share here a masterpiece.
Thank you .. it was a very inspiring haiku to interpret.
Truly inspired Bjorn, I believe the flower would be pressed between the pages of your haiku 🙂
The Emptiness
Thank you 🙂
both gorgeous as well as the picture. WOW
Thank you 🙂
beautifully wistful….you sentimental fool! (smiles)
Aren’t we all sentimental at one point?
Pressing flowers or making photographs is trying to hold the moment. I can understand this evry much. Nicely done, Björn.
My thought was finding a pressed flower in a book and be reminded …
Bittersweet memories lingering…
You captured the essence of Takahama’s haiku perfectly !!!
Thank you 🙂
there is love pressed there…
Thank you 🙂
