Wonderful Wednesday, and once more it times for Friday Fictioneers (strangely enough). This time I write a little bit mystery fiction (maybe?), and it’s 100 words exactly. I have assumed that the picture is from Barcelona and shows one of the buildings drawn by Gaudi..
Friday Fictioneers is a wonderful group of bloggers from around the world who every week gather to write a story of 100 words (more or less). If you want to know more, go to Rochelle Wissoff-Fields page and check it out. If you only want to check out the great stories click the little blue guy at the bottom.

He watched in anticipation the young tourist couple approaching. She looked confused as she consulted the guide-book.
“There shouldn’t be a Gaudi building here”
A brass plaque appeared:
“But it clearly is, let’s investigate….. look it’s unlocked”
After they had carefully opened the door and entered, the door shut with a loud bang. From the inside their muffled cries were heard, and after a while silence.
Strangely enough the house, now transformed into an ugly concrete building, burped.
In Barcelona there was no better way to get food than masking yourself as a Gaudi palace.

Can’t go wrong with a carnivorous house 🙂
Gaudi looks quite organic 🙂
Wow that’s some vivid imagination!
This was a fun read! 🙂
Thank you. Thought there was a little beast in that house.
I think the house is a beast! 🙂
This is amazing. Funny too! 🙂
Thank you 🙂
woohoo, your talent is so wide ranged!
*blushing*
Nice one!
🙂
I think I will identify with the guide-book. 🙂
Always trust the guide book
Haha! Yes, Bjorn! Gaudi’s secrets will remain unknown. I like the food metaphor, too, because BCN is GREAT for eating. Catalunyan food is delicious! Great story!
And the houses love yummy tourists
That was fun, Bjorn (but not for them.)
janet
Thank you.. no the young couple is now part of a balcony.
haha fun take. didn’t quite know whether to laugh or be frightened 🙂 that building looks as though it just might eat people up. pretty though 🙂
You can laugh, unless you are in Barcelona
That’s one smart building. And, you know, after reading your story and looking at the photo again, that first floor with the thin columns now looks like a mouth to me.
Indeed, Gaudi’s houses look a lot like animals.
They should have known when they saw those jaw bone balconies. There is something very ominous about that building.
Ha ha.. I’ll remember this if ever I see a ‘Gaudi’ in a strange place…! Very clever.. 🙂
Always consult the guidebook.
Great story. If a burp is a European expression of a good dinner, then the tourists must have been a tasty treat!
I assume at least for a beastly house it was an excellent dinner.
Ah! Very creative! 😀
Thank you 🙂 Tonight I will be reading as many as I can
It does look organic Björn, I thought so myself. Your story is excellent fun. A burping scary modernistic edifice! Outstanding (literally)!
Thank you… on the third floor balcony you can see part of the poor guy..
ha,ha,ha,ha,ha, (oh yes, I see him now!)
A man after my own heart!
Great!

Thank you Scott.
That building went to a lot of trouble for a little snack on two tourists–hope it got other takers to make the transformation worthwhile. Crazy fun, Bjorn!
I think the beastly house could easily transform himself… and I think it was a succulent juicy couple.
Love it! The burp was a brilliant touch!
Thank you 🙂
This was a very educational piece. Thank you.
Always trust the guide book
I’ll remember that.
Unusual take on the prompt…made the house strange for sure.
Thank you 🙂
That was fun. His houses do seem to take on a humanistic appearance, you just took it to the next level.
Thank you.. yes they are pretty organic.. (BTW I love them)
So things have gotten so bad there that people are masquerading as architecture? At least the Spanish have class while doing it. 🙂
Ha! And I thought I was being original 🙂
John :. I have not come to read the other entries yet. So glad you joined 🙂
Thanks for pointing me to it! I’d not read any of the other entries (except Rochelle’s) before writing mine … which I did this morning. But now I see the subject is published on Wednesdays.
Dear Björn,
House…burped. Funneeeee…unless, of course, your the tourist du jour. Clever story.
Shalom,
Rochelle
Indeed,,,could be both a funny story and a horror one,.
Nicely done! Fresh, well told, and fun!
Thank you 🙂
Hmmm – surreal. I can imagine this as a proper gothic horror. Great stuff.
Horror or humor… they are pretty close sometimes.
Oh, now I will be suspicious of all houses. who knows which might want to eat me!!
Houses eat your money at least…
LOL, so true!
A great interpretation. It’s logical, given the organic look of the building. I take it tourists don’t require mayonnaise to be palatable?
I think just a few drops of olive oil and some balsamic vinegar would do the trick
Oh yes. That makes everything better.
Now I have had hungry houses before that ate money like crazy! But a house that ate people, now that is novel! 😉
Ah the money is just the appetizer… 🙂
Nice!
Thanks
great story ! 🙂
Thanks
Yikes!! Don’t let Stephen King read this or visit this bldg…It may give him some gory ideas.
He would do it 100 pages, not in 100 words 🙂
haha. Reverse fast food. Such a dark imagination you have. Fun read.
I don’t think the house thought it dark at all… 🙂
Absurdist fiction is always fun! Thanks for reading my take as well.
Thank you
I love it. Seems a lot of people were inspired by the organic look of the building. Like the others, I also loved the burp 😀
Wonder how a burping house sound..
A house that burps! In the news there was a sink hole that burped and ate a whole house!
Thanks for your visit.
So the house ate the human and the sink hole ate the house… sounds a little bit like the old tale of the cat and the rat and the rope,,,
I really enjoyed the darkness you saw in the building. This was quite entertaining to read!
Hence the phrase (at least in America), “How Gaudy!”
Enjoyable tale, Bjorn.
Clever and creepy – a nice little horror story! I like it.
That’s the last time I visit Barcelona. Greta response to prompt.
Haha! We all gotta eat, no harm (relative) being clever about it. Nice story.
Wow, there’s a terrific episode of Tales From the Crypt! Nice spooky job!
Bjorn, this is brilliant – I loved it, the idea is a tale from the dark side. I guessed what would happen, your writing held me in there, a great FF, descriptive and a whole chunky story in one small flash!
Nice story! I love the though of a building that has character, but is a character.
Fantastic idea Bjorn. And very apt that the house is locally known as the house of bones.
I did not know that (but I know it now) but I certainly saw that from looking at the picture)
Love this. I’ll have to watch out when I finally get to visit Barcelona.
It’s even better since I heard it’s the house of bones.
That’s a fun take on some very interesting architecture. Definitely liked it a lot.
