Today Carpe Diem prompt is coffee, and I found this wonderful painting by Henri Matisse. Laurette on the picture was an Italian model during 6-7 months 1916-1917.

Beautiful set Bjorn and what a wonderful painting. Thank you.
Thank you, I really like to combine the haiku with some art. I knew so little about Matisse. Thank you for your beautiful prompts that make me look for them.
Very real haiku there, in a Japanese style, both. And both delightful for that.
Thank you… sometimes I feel I get it right…
Sweet and lovely.
Like coffee…
Sweet as sin
and black as devils’ tail –
hot as hell
I love the painting you found to illustrate your words, which are, by the way wonderfully well written. 🙂
Thank you – I love browsing for art that might add to the poetry.
Very cool painting and perfect haiku to go with it.
Thank you 🙂
another perfect photo for inspiration. the second haiku sounds irresistible. ^^
Of course.. Matisse knew what he was doine 🙂
Bravo Bjorn, a great combination as always 🙂
Thank you 🙂
Delightful haiku!
Thank you. 🙂
One good, strong jolt will wake you up!
Yesterday’s Coffee
Or a warm embrace 🙂
when the beauty wakes
one hopes for more sweet heat
than simply coffee
Cheers!

But she prefer
warmth of coffee
to turpentine
Beautiful art choice to go with this lovely haiku. That and I’m a bit biased because I sure do love my coffee! ^_^
These are wonderful, as is the painting, which I am not familiar with.
Thank you, I had not seen it before either. But it’s a wonderful Matisse
Can feel the tantalising and powerful aroma of coffee in both of your haiku. Wonderful!
