Carpe Diem today prompt today is Aomugi (green barley). And when I hear barley my mind goes to beer. But I also see green fields.

Perhaps time for celebration !!!

Fresh feeling…!
damn you made me thirsty ^^ i’m cheating.. reading your haiku first before making one hahaha
my “hops” ( hopes ) are high too!
Indeed barley gives both hope and feeling of joy. Very nice perspectives. Positive. Remember Jesus said he was bread and wine (ref. the communion). As bread he is the corn seeded in the spring.
over verdant fields ~ very poetic words ~ both haiku are excellent ~ enjoy ^_^
cheers to high hops!!!
green and stout
The taste buds secured movements. Thoughts of Happy Hours surging! Nicely Bjorn!
Hank
I would suppose that the hopes are as high as the hops!
Barley One and Barley Two
As “motivating” as the first haiku is for taste buds, the second one is a gem with the beautiful imagery it brings along.
Gorgeous BB now I want a beer! 😉
Barley fields, turning ripe yellow from green are a sight to watch in fields of Panjab, India, and are associated with many folk lores. However beer is not much on mind here, but love for barley fields is indeed very strong. 🙂
Barley used to be grown a lot in Sweden to. Barley grows also in the very far north, and therefore it feels fantastic that it also grows in India.
those larks! they know their thing, huh?
I didn’t think about beer at first, but after reading your haiku set it brought nice memories to me. I love the second haiku … can almost hear the larks singing.
over the green fields
high above in the blue sky
skylarks singing
Just an impromptu verse 🙂
I am cheered by the lark song. Cheers!
Bitter Barley Brew
are those larks singing drunken songs?
Giggling at your hops and loving the second!
I should have thought of beer…hopping along the bunny trail…sigh… great post. Thanks.
Peace
Ps…had that wrong…with green beer just days past, it should have been hopping after St Patrick. Sorry. Brain sprain tonite !
