Writing something on green to celebrate the upcoming S:t Patrick’s day is what Karin want’s us to do on dVerse. For me it had to be a limerick. Limericks are tricky, but reading it aloud I think I got a decent rythm, and as any good limerick it’s not entireley “clean”.
There once was a man from Kilkenny
One night met a lady named Jenny
He was very keen
and she wasn’t green
With a smile he spent every penny

That smile did it all 😉
🙂
hahah…beware of that smile..a limerick is just perfect…and oh she has to be careful with her blouse ya know…smiles
a but she aint green you know..
ha…
i take it she was worth each one of them…lol
ah, thanks for the chuckle
on my break from my paper…
if it’s chuckleworthy it place itself as a limerick
Like the clever take on the green & penny ~ Smiles ~
🙂 an smile indeed
..a voluptuous lady so attractive back in the day…your limerick is sharp.
Thank you 😉
Ha! A lot of fun here – and good rhythm! k.
Thank you
Ah, a mighty nice limerick there, eh?
😉 I love limericks.. But so hard to do
yes, very true
Love it!
😉
Love it. Hmmm. that has been said already, but still love it. Hope she was worth it too. I am not much of a limerick creator in verse, bbut i really liked yours.
Thank you 😉
..ooh..nice… perhaps, limerick is one form in poetry i cannot write… seriously i made several attempts on it & all went a flop…maybe, humour in poetics is not on my blood… ha..i adore ya’ll who can easily write one… loved it. .. smiles…
Ah, this one was way more work for me, than any other. But at least there was no 140 character limit
This is a little more blue than green 🙂
You are right, they are hard to do. I think I have only ever managed to write two.
Sure it’s blue 🙂 any limerick should be.
Laughing–I think we’ve all known this guy, or maybe been this guy.
🙂 yeah
The portrait and your words: a perfect smiling mixture!
Thank you 🙂
He met his match! Great limericks Bjorn!
Hank
Thank you 🙂
Oh well this was perfect for St Patricks day…great limerick!
Thank you 🙂
That’s great!
🙂
Ha! Nice. Praised be the green! 🙂
Or priced be the non green 🙂
Hihi! 🙂
You nailed it! Well done!
Thank you 🙂
He-he, excellent!
Anna :o]
🙂
I want to write a limerick too! 🙂
A LOOK FROM NORWAY
A mister from Sweden was winning
whenever his car started spinning.
He stated, “The end
will always depend
on whether it had a beginning!”
Hihi! 😉
🙂
Jeg klarer aldri å huske noen av disse svenske-vitsene. Jeg får lage mine egne. 🙂
🙂
I just met a man from Sweden, who still wrote with a pen,
he did so not because he was green, he just knew it would never be seen, after the font was well typed again.
🙂
Seriously, I loved your limerick, sir.
Thank you
Did he pay in full or just put down a deposit?
Ah he paid what he had, but I recon he will be back for more
there was a cool guy from Sweden
who spent most of his time weedin’
his garden was green
and known to be clean
except in the months he was breedin’
Ahh and we breed in summer here in Sweden 🙂
Sounds like money well spent. This was wonderful. Made me smile.
Brilliant! A properly improper limerick – a triumph of writing in your second language!
Thank you 🙂
Choosing a limerick for St. Paddy’s seems so appropriate. And I loved it!
I believe I have improved it:
PRECISELY
A Swedish professor was winning
whenever his car started spinning.
He stated, “The end
of motion depend
on whether it had a beginning!”
Right! 😮
Not perfect. It should say “depends”. So I had to change it.
PRECISELY
A Swedish professor was winning
whenever his head started spinning.
He stated, “The end
does always depend
on whether there was a beginning!”
Writing limericks is in fact quite fun!
oh! wonderful! 🙂
