Carpe Diem today is to write haiku inspired by Chiyo-Ni.
In mid-flight
the butterfly returns
to the pines of Shiogoshi Shrine
After thinking a little about this, I have chosen to interpret it as a metaphor for the short life of the butterfly. Picture is therefore one of a dead butterfly I took a couple of years ago.
wings of butterfly
carries only far enough
to its destiny
~~
in beautiful dress
dances just a single summer
and then she leaves
~~
destiny fulfilled
painful metamorphose
then dying

beautiful verse
on a short lovely life
tinged with sorrow

Thank you. Yes I have always felt a little bit sad for butterflies.
loved your last one! and not only because I wrote about metamorphose too 😉

What a beauty … nice haiku inspired on Chiyo-Ni’s butterfly. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you, it was a nice haiku to share.
LOVE this photo. Camera wizard AND poet. Wow.
Thank you 🙂 Or lucky shot. 🙂
fleeting beauty… a hint of sadness… each haiku in this set is a gem
Thank you. Inspiring prompt I think.
Yes the butterfly has a brief and beautiful life! And I love your photo too!
Thank you 🙂
A delicate haiku for a delicate creature, a life brief and wistful that brings joy to so many.
And many years in preparation….
Enjoyed this lovely haiku!
Thank you 🙂
Nature can be so sad.
Your second makes me think of the old time Debutants at their coming out balls.
Thank you as always Bjorn 🙂
Thank you, yes I had young ladies blooming in mind when I wrote it.. Thank you for noticing.
Beautiful and sad, such a fragile creature.
Thank you. Once you settle on how to interpret it was easy.
Wonderful set of haiku with a tint on sadness. The second one is awesome; I went back to it to reread.
Thank you. I like the second one best too. 🙂
Amazingly felt and written Bjorn!
Thank you 🙂
A single summer’s dance…how sad…
In Mid-Flight
Indeed .. but still beautiful
Even a single summer matters… Beautifully crafted,
It is of utmost importance. 🙂
Oh my, the first and seconds, some of your very best, true, illuminating, fragile haiku moments – the third was very clear, but the first two also had depth of imagery. Great.
Beautiful verse. The photo is perfect… 🙂
