Today the Carpe Diem prompt is wisdom. I choose to illustrate with a painting of Lao Tze, riding on his water buffalo. The haiku below are different citation by him rewritten as haiku. Great fun to write actually.
change your goal
or you may wander
straight ahead
~~
manage the easy
so you may anticipate
what’s difficult
~~
a wise man
will never talk loud
but with silence
~~
great leaders
are forgotten for their deeds
but inspire others
~~
a wise man
will be wealthier
by giving

You know, that is a very good idea indeed…
Thank you 🙂 easy points, or wise perhaps
I like you re-write. Two great poets speak better than either one alone.
Thank you. Lao Tze is a such a powerful condensation of wisdom.
Great idea, indeed
Well done, sir

Thank you 🙂
great haiku 🙂
Thank you 🙂
I am attracted to the first one most of all. That suggestion that the straight path is less interesting, perhaps….
Thank you 😉
thanx for imparting such wisdom..
My pleasure
Needless to say ~ Beautiful painting and wise haikus to match ~ ^_^
Thank you 🙂
wow amazing set of nuggets of wisdom.. every time i read one of these i’m like “who writes these things??” hehe hard to match. these are indeed so wise
Thank you kz. Wisdom is hard to grasp but easy to express.
Ah the first one went straight to my meandering, wandering soul!!
Thank you 🙂
Well done
Thank you 😉
How I wish I knew the language of silence!
Wisdom & Murder
I think you do.
Very wise words good to emulate for our betterment. Nicely Bjorn!
Hank
Thank you Hank
Very nice! I like number 3 sounds like Lao Tzu from what I’ve heard.
I think that might be his most well known citation.
A good use of the prompt … loved all of them !!!
Thank you 🙂
Liked them all.. specially the second 🙂
Thank you 🙂
I like the idea of becoming wealthy by giving.
Lady Wisdom
I think it’s very interesting. riches is not only in terms of money.
A really creative approach to the prompt! And so well done.
Thank you.
I believe this is the ultimate in a series of images starting with seeing a hoofprint – the moral being that we already have the knowledge and do not need to look. Your haiku #1 is nearest to this though all very clever
Thank you, I believe you are right.
Bjorn, lovely set. The third one is my favourite 🙂
That one is very Lao Tze
