My VisDare entry this week.

Walking through the tunnel she felt an eerie déjà vu, the damp and musky smell, the crunch as she barefoot threaded on the floor. A floor covered with something that wasn’t soft but yet not sharp.
She shuddered.
The lantern she carried had been alight for as long as she could remember. But she had forgotten everything that she once recalled.
Emerging through the mirror at the end of the tunnel she was inside a chamber again. It was probably not the same room, or she had aged a hundred years.
She sighed.
Crossing barefoot on the soft carpet, she went to the mirror on the other side, and once again she was inside a tunnel.

I liked this. ‘had aged a hundred years’… cool… eerie piece.
Thank you, fitted the picture nicely I thought.
This is really good!
Thank you 😉
So very creative Bjorn – tunnel with mirrors and I love ‘she had forgotteneverything she once recalled’.
As a metaphor for life it’s even more scary.
This is interesting !!!
Thank you 🙂
My kind of story!!! I love the idea of going round and round…but you put it in such an eerie space. Fabulous 🙂
Thank you. Did a similar a couple of weeks ago in FF. loosely inspired by Borges “the library of Babel”
Could well be interpreted as life as we know it…a constant round of repeating ourselves! Very interesting take on the prompt!
The endless toil going nowhere 🙂 sometimes it feels like that.
A dull routine
with no meaning
Of course she sighs
Your link at Visdare goes to your firebird sonnet.
Cheers!

Now corrected link 🙂 Thank you.
Intriguing! 🙂
Thank you 🙂
Yow. This is in itself one of the most harrowing stories a person can tell – that of unending sameness, with no chance of escape. This gave me a shudder. Well done!!!
