Prompt today in Carpe Diem is joyful, which is an interesting prompt. To some extent I think it’s a little bit to mellow, and I focus on a darker aspect. And what can be better than to illustrate with Edward Munch, who celebrates his 150 year’s anniversary.
joyfully she leaves
husband into deep despair
alienated
~~
joyful to escape
anger of his ownership
thus is stalker born
~~
suicidal thoughts
from her joyful swift escape
darkness sees in wood

Three different takes on joyful .. wow !!!
But no really joyful..
Bjorn…friend…very dark…my haiku was influenced by what you said some time back…yours..worry me! Powerful emotions.
I was looking for some joyful pictures, but realized that this one was the happiest by Munch. I somehow believe that in som cases the joy for some is dread for others..
Yes true..PS if you’re interested..http://ligoeditions.wordpress.com/2013/02/07/the-ligo-haibun-challenge-prompt-melt/
Wow. that sounds interesting. I will look at it tonight… if I have time.
Thanks friend! Or tomorrow night!
Friday night is reading FF night usually… try to read’em all. Then I started with dVerse. So many prompts.
Yes…true….I’m just trying to attract the really good writers like you! That’s why I nudged a bit more…
*blushes*
Perhaps this is dark but it seems to me, if she is escaping a guy who wants “ownership of her”, she is probably joyful! Her joy= his sorrow!
Of course she’s joyful… Who wouldn’t be.
Her joy is bought
With the coin of his despair
Hard debt to pay

JB I like your response haiku here. Alice
fantastic
You did it again – brilliantly! 🙂
NOT very joyous. But very good. Inverted.
Thank you 🙂
dark, you say? an understatement, I say…however, I love Munch and you did him proud…..
I agree with Alice. And they ARE good 🙂
dark yes but to escape from the clutches of a controlling person.. whew! that kind of feeling is pretty damn amazing ^^
Awesome … a dark take on joyful. But what others already said here is so true … what a joy to escape a controlling husband (or wife).
Dark, dramatic words and illustration. Her joy creates his pain. Unique take on the prompt.
I worry about her stalker..excellent take my friend. All joy is not joyful
What a marvellous take on this prompt. Bi-polar images and words. Excellent thank you.
I would hope that in all this darkness there is a glimmer of light…
A Joyful Haiku
As long as stalker is not Bjorn! 🙂
Joyful Song
Fortunately not 🙂
A dark take on a bright theme, yet crafted in such a clever, emotionally challenging way.
Excellent take on the picture.
Sadness and joy blended… Beautiful. 😉

A twist to the normal expectations of joy and laughter.
A healthy offering Bjorn!
Hank
Thank you Hank 🙂
