Today Carpe Diem is birdsong. Here in Sweden it’s slightly milder, but winter is far from over. I heard the great tit this morning. A clear sign that someone believe spring is on its way. Today I have found a very nice woodblock by bird and flower master Kono Bairei.

These are lovely, Bjorn.

Thank you Janet. Why not join and write some haiku.
I may, although I’ve been writing some on my blog. In fact, stop by and give me your feedback on today’s post which is a haiku with alternate endings. I’m so busy right now, that adding more writing, as tempting as it is, is difficult. Right now I’m getting ready to drive back to our Cleveland house tomorrow, where I need to work like mad for the week before heading back here. I’m trying to work on my FF story in my head, as the day is rapidly slipping by and many of you have posted already. Can’t read until I write mine! 🙂
I know what you mean. I have 20 haiku to read and comment before I hit the sack. I’ll try to get back to yours.
Don’t worry about mine. Any time or not at all is fine. 🙂
What a nice set of haiku. The woodblock is lovely, too. Well crafted.
Thank you. Inspiring prompt really.
The first one…. No the second one….. No the third one… You outdid yourself today! The way each poem turns in the second line ! I heard the birdsong!! (Today your link didn’t work!)
Thank you Wabi, found your comment in the spam. But usually it disappears by itself after a while.
I see the call for Spring in your haiku..The first one has a brilliant image – very nice.
Spring is still far away, but it brings warmth inside.
I won’t tell what our temps have been this week 😉
has to be my favorite… all of it… all the images produced are so clear.. i particularly love the last one..
I imagine those birds are chattering in the camellias because their little toesies are frozen!
Silence the Birdsong
Very nice. Second is my favorite.
Birds call Spring
Spring calls the sun
I remain hopeful
Cheers!

So beautiful … the last one my favorite !!!
wonderful, lovely image like old world charm and a very well penned haiku
Beautiful and really uplifting.
Thank you
Beautiful, lyrical haiku painting wonderful pictures!
Thank you Gemma
What a wonderful journey through the world of the image. Thank you 🙂
Thank you. I was inspired yesterday.
They are all excellent ( I rather not hear serenading blackbirds in the early morning )
Especially since daybreak in Sweden in May is around 4 AM despite daylight savings time
Very lovely, Bjorn. I love the last one so. 🙂
Thank you. Unfortunately it’s not until May that we can enjoy that for real.
I have read a lot of nice haiku written by you Bjorn, but this trio is for sure stunning … very well done … Thank you for your daily effort to write and share haiku.
Thank you. I have a soft spot for spring.
you have such a command of the English language as to create gorgeous haiku for us….I think our weather is similar – right now it’s what we call the ‘January thaw’…
We have thaw right now, but come February and we will have freezing again.
Lovely wood cut and great set of haiku for bird song ~ hard to chose a favorite ~

Thanks for coming by and commenting ^_^
I enjoyed the second one especially. About the birds calling for spring.
I was enjoying this and then found a bit of humor. A serene blackbird? Not around here. LOL
